The LG Chem battery cells used in the Chevy Volt have LMO? (LiMn…) battery chemistry. Hybrid Cars says a Volt has about 140 watt-hours per kilogram energy density in its LG Chem lithium-ion T-shaped battery pack.

At 7.6 V and 60 Ah (0.456 kWh), the Nissan LEAF battery module–1/48th of the battery pack–is a good building block for electric aircraft battery systems. E.g., 9 LEAF battery modules in series would power an eSpyder and 9 parallel pairs (120 Ah) of modules in series (18 modules total) would power an eSpyder longer than stock batteries. Also, 14 LEAF battery modules in series would power an eGull and 14 parallel pairs (120 Ah) of modules in series (28 modules total) would power an eGull longer than stock batteries.
